Last Mile Flash Delivery

The Last Mile flash delivery tool for Albertsons fulfillment suite of applications allowed business users and store operators to 
configure delivery attributes for individual stores, enable stores across the country to receive flash delivery service and make bulk changes to configurations.

My Role

My role was a lead product designer for this project with the task of developing conceptual wireframes and final designs for Last Mile flash delivery, which allowed users to configure delivery attributes based on analytics data from Power BI that showed certain configurations underperforming on certain thresholds.

The Challenge

The challenge was the adoption of a new too, which had not existed before. So, understanding users' expectations of how they could intuitively make changes to certain configurations and adoption of a self-service digital tool were critical aspects of designing for this tool.  

User engagement and understanding of such complex information in a digital product was a critical aspect of this effort.

Research:  User Interviews

We conducted multiple interviews with internal users who are the target audience for this application.

Key Takeaways

   -  Identifying what areas of delivery needed changes based on the performance of indicators
​   -  Users wanted a streamlined process for making changes to a few configurations and applying it to multiple stores
   -  Ability to view values for all configurations in real-time with option to edit

Final Designs

The IA diagrams helped to inform the final designs based on Albertsons design system. I worked closely with Design System team to  to identify and apply components, in which the components were originally built for the Shopper pillar (Front-facing application), into an application targeted for the fulfillment pillar (backend/internal facing application).
